About The Artist
Having learned my craft as a news photographer on the streets of Milwaukee, Chicago and Woodstock during the tumultuous 'Sixties, I went on to practice large-format photography in the tradition of the masters before opening Canada's first west coast photographic gallery-the Mind's Eye-in Vancouver's Gastown in the mid-Seventies.

I later worked as a “photog” for the Vancouver Sun, before embarking on an eight-year Pacific voyage aboard my backyard-built “media boat”. My photographs from the South Pacific, Japan and China have appeared in more than 50 publications worldwide, with accompanying articles translated into French, Dutch and Japanese.

During and immediately after Desert Storm, I worked with a three-man environmental emergency response team in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait responding to and documenting the world's biggest ecological disaster. My video documentary “Eco War” aired extensively on the CBC, with clips also appearing on CNN and NBC, before winning the 1991 US Environmental Film Festival Award.
